With the recent update to Massachusetts growler guidelines, we’ve received questions about how that effects our policy. The short answer is not much is changing, but here is a breakdown of our growler policy:
The Basics
- Our growler deposit is actually a deposit, and is always refundable. So no need to worry about growlers stacking up in your kitchen, garage or bedroom (maybe that one’s just us).
- We always fill our growlers fresh, no pre-filled growlers sitting around for days. The one in your hand was made just for you!
RiverWalk Branded Growlers
If you use a RiverWalk growler we’ll exchange it for a clean, sanitized one. Every time. For us, this ensures that the beer is the best quality possible. For our customers, that means just enjoy the beer and don’t worry about cleaning them- we got a guy.
Personal Growlers
Yes, we fill unlabeled growlers, but customers are responsible for cleaning them. We’ve worked hard to create the best beer to fill that growler, just ask our brewers. They’ll gladly tell you brewing is uphill both ways, in the snow. So please ensure it is properly cleaned and sanitized before bringing it in for a refill.
Other Brewery’s Growlers
We cannot fill growlers from other breweries, that is still the law. But more importantly, doing so would certainly make our designer cry.
